- path1ExplorerProbably just me but every 30,000 miles I take off belt to check for free play in belt tension pully thing.
- 427435ExplorerI bought a spare 5 years ago before heading to Alaska. It's still in my MH's spare parts bin, and the OEM belt is still running.
I've also got a 1993 Mercury Topaz (please no laughter as it has been a very good car). It has 233,000 miles and the original belt on it. - powderman426Explorer

I would only get one new one and keep the old one for an emergency. If you buy a second one now it will age just sitting and probably be no better than the takeoff. JMO - DUNEBUGGYDOUGExplorerFor you to have piece ofmind , go ahead and change it.Keep old one in storage compartment for spare
- OhhWellExplorerSeems a bit early to replace it unless it is showing signs of wear.
- IvylogExplorer IIISince it's a 2011 I'd buy a spare (if you can change it yourself) and change it at 5 years. I replaced mine at 5 years and kept the old one as a spare in case I cannot get a new one if it breaks.

For sure - univmdExplorerOur alternator seized and the belt snapped at 50,000 miles.
- allbrandautoExplorerbeing that the belt is rubber its as much time as miles I would say 5 years 50000 miles cheap fix for peace of mind
