"When will RV Manufacturers be concerned with quality?"
When more RV buyers are prepared to pay for it, not just the cheapest they can get!!
Yep, when we quit buying them as they are, they'll change. I'll never ever buy another new one...unless we move to the same town the factory is in. Since they are all in the "rust belt" that's not going to happen.
I just think this is a bad attitude about RV's. The OP talked about having a Tiffin, which are NOT the bottom of the food chain in Class A's. When somebody buys an RV they expect to have things decent at face value, not careless errors. This type of attitude suggests that the fault is on the person not paying more.
The OP is talking about quality and merely just "assembled correctly", not luxury.
A Prevost is luxury. Sure it should have quality. Yes, lots of marble and built ins.
But even a budget RV SHOULD be put together right. Just because there are vinyl floors doesn't mean it should be assembled wrong. A doghouse seal is a doghouse seal. Just because the OP didn't pay 250k+ for a Class A doesn't mean the doghouse seal should be wrong. Then again, I've seen plenty of 250k RV's with plethora of problems of assembly.
Now for me to answer the OP there is actually a reality. The RV manufacturer really needs to CARE about their product over just sales numbers.
One manufacturer that comes to mind is the Casita travel trailers. That company it was not all about numbers of sales. It's a smaller operation with great quality builds.
I actually LEAN in the future to smaller manufacturers. Once the corporation is openly traded or grows too large, it seems to become more of a numbers game - and sometimes a monstrous organization.
I'm not labeling any manufacturer as bad here.... But I do see where the OP is coming from in the rant. There is a lot of "shoddy work" out there that would not take but .02 cents more effort to do right.
A fancy tiled shower is a fancy tiled shower. A fiberglass shower insert is a fiberglass shower insert. Yes one is cheaper. Both should work. Both should be installed correctly.
