Recently Consumer Reports did a listing of the last 10 years of their car and light truck ratings. Solid red being the best and solid back the worst. The only ones with only red for ten years were all Japanese so when they start building MHs the quality will improve.
This is a good point. Europe has it's share of innovative RV's. Ever watch the tour de France? Never seen so many RV's. Of course many US manufacturers ship theirs overseas for foreign sales, but if the inverse were of a larger marketplace - Someone stateside importing European RV's for US sale, things would change. Quite simply, there are a few brands that control US market share and they are all doing pretty close to the same thing at pretty much the same quality. Insert competition, and things will start to change.
Doubt it will happen anytime soon. Americans really have the appetite for large MH's and it would be an uphill battle against US RV lobbyists. And the loudest roar will come from folks who ain't buying no foreign junk and givin away 'Merican jobs. And this also is a valid point. But if Americans are building slipshod RV's, then who is really to blame in a global economy? Themselves. Same as the auto industry. It would solve a lot of problems though, like emissions and fuel regulations. Only a guess that quality is better. Can't be worse.
