We have had three Bs and a van we made into a camper. We have also had three Cs over the years. All the Cs were 24 feet or less. We simply adjusted as our style of traveling and camping changed over the years. Currently we have a Phoenix Cruiser which is sometimes (erroneously I know) called a B+ and fourteen years ago we had BT Cruiser. In between those, we had a Roadtrek 210P.
In a year or two, we will probably be back to a B. We have a garage with a nine foot door and a Roadtrek 190P will probably be in there soon.
Having owned three Bs and three Cs I conclude each has its advantages. To walk out into the garage (which is heated and airconditioned) and never winterize, just get in and go is a real advantage. And, in my experience, there is no question that a B is simply more carefully and quality built than virtually all Cs. Yes, a B is smaller and you pay lots more, but it certainly is great for touring.
Simply put, driving a van is easier than driving a truck. Period.
We love our Phoenix Cruiser and its quality. We love the bed, the dry bath, the room, etc. But we don't love towing to go out and drive a hundred miles in a day exploring. Years ago we had a Roadtrek 190P and there was NO where we couldn't reasonably go and park. Driving it five hundred miles a day was easy. Not so even a 24 foot C, at least for this kid.
So, we are starting to smell around in the B world and will return in due course. Age probably has something to do with wanting easier driving and we really want to tour the whole country now that we are retired. Nothing would beat a small B for that in our experience.
