I believe the ladder attached to RVs is NOT designed for extended use. A real ladder is required for work, or maintenance on the roof. They are handy to access the roof when camped or traveling, and have used them as such. I would guess a attached ladder is like dual pane windows, slid-outs and carpeting in the MH, either loved or hated. I would not be without any of the above mention items, but everyone has their own opinion.
