Where have all the ladders gone?

I will always have a ladder, Im on my roof at least 4 times a year,I check for cap cracks, I wash my roof,I do all my own repairs if needed, and sometimes we watch the fireworks in town. If you don't have a ladder how are you going to check for problems on top?

Both of my coaches - my previous and current - came with attached ladders, yet I have ever to use them. I carry along a folding extension ladder (14' Gorilla Ladder) that is nice and study even when fully extended. It does take up some space in the bay though. However, I trust it a lot more than ladder attached to the back cap. I'm just not confident that the attached ladder will safely hold my weight. No problem with my folding carry-along ladder though. I get up on the roof several times per season.

Our coach didnt have a ladder either...probably had something to do w/ our REAR slide on the back - the MFG wanted 500 plus installation (f'get about dat).

I bought a 15.5 foot XtendNClimb....rated for 250 lbs...cost me about 225 bucks....when i sell the coach i can keep the ladder & i can use the ladder anywhere i want (since its not attached to the coach) :D

It's heavy (45 lbs) but it collapses small enough to put in my basement storage bin and hardly takes up any room.

thats a friends 8 foot version next to my taller 15.5 foot one.

ours has a ladder I use ittt all the time.

I like having a ladder attached to the coach and use mine often. As a matter of fact, I damaged minein December and just replaced it this week, Took 6 weeks to get from the manufacturer but worth the wait. While I could live with a telescoping extension ladder if need be, I am still really glad mine is attached to the coach.

Here in south Texas you cannot buy a ladder less than 14 feet because their are not enough rungs to put the safety warnings on to prevent lawsuits

I have used the ladder on the back of our MH a lot. It is not a higher line coach, it is just a 06 Pace Arrow, but it came with a good strong ladder on back.

some times I think it is a good idea not to have a ladder to get on the roof. most of the time if your unit gets burglarized they use the ladder to get on the roof and break out a vent or sky light to get in to the unit and then go out the door.
