Cummins may want the Engine number. Its separate than the vehicle Vin. I think its 8 digit and located on the engine. - Canadian_RainbiExplorerIf you can't locate it call the Cummins tech line and give them the VIN. They will probably be able to tell you.
- Tom_BarbExplorerthe lift pump is either on the left side of the engine rear, or in the tank. the 5.9 had two versions.
- path1ExplorerThis doesn't answer your question but consider...When my lift pump went out on 01 dodge pick up I went to http://fass-fuel-pumps.com/. Don't know if M/H's have different lift pumps for their 5.9's on M/H or not.
I do know it is a breeze to change fuel and water filter. Also installed a little led light that gives me a warning if fuel pressure falls below (I think) 5 pounds, being a fuel system so expensive in a 5.9 Light gives early warning to low fuel pressure. Only time it goes off is flipping key on to start over 6 years now.
Wasn't cheap to put in and I didn't buy the smallest, cheapest pump there was.
We used 5.9's at work and they were abused everyday IMO but they worked well. I'm under the belief if they have clean air, clean fuel and clean oil they'll run a long time. Wish rest of my Dodge held up as good.
