Have a 2001 Kountry Star DP. Still have the original TV's (living room and bedroom). Both big and heavy, neither is digital. Both still work but thinking of upgrading to a newer flat screen. Wonder...

The same thing I see with my Vizio's. Maybe traveling MORE is better! I have never had an issue with (now my 3rd) Vizio. I have a 22" and 2 - 32".
I do recommend that you look at any TV you buy and ensure it has a wide viewing range. You are looking for 170+ degree viewing angles.
