I've had both. For about 5 yrs we had a 5er. We liked the room and storage but didn't like driving around in a truck to go sightseeing and visiting. Also didn't like the poor gas mileage on the truck. When it came to parking the thing it was a real pain fer sure. I thought it was just me but learned after watching many others struggle the same way and talking to my son the truck driver I decided it wasn't all driver issues. My son drives a semi for a major supermarket chain in the Bay area and does deliveries in San Francisco. One of his points of pride is his ability to get into the docks at some of the older stores. He recently bought a camp trailer and 1 ton PU . When I asked him why he didn't buy a 5er his response was that he couldn't take it where he could his tail wagger.
