I have over 60 years experience with all types. Each has its own unique feature. Backing a 5th wheel or TT it is recommended to place the steer hand on the bottom of the steering wheel and steer in normal fashion backing up....on MH place hand on top of steering wheel and steer as normal.
The tow truck must turn in opposite direction of the 5th wheel or TT when backing. Now if one is backing a wagon it is more complicated. Triple towing is even more difficult. The only reason a train is able to back up is because it is guided by the rails.
I do not depend upon a spotter. An experienced driver needs to be able to back whatever they drive by themselves. They alone should be responsible for their driving if they are going to take on the responsibility.
