The advantage of an Oil Analysis is to show you how your engine/transmission is wearing. As the equipment ages from hours/miles of use the wear particles are picked up and circulated by the oil and can be tracked by regular testing. If you have a coolant leak a test can spot it prior to major damage is done to the engine/transmission. A leaking Air Intake system can be detected before excessive damage is done with an annual test. It is not the results of an individual test but the trends of long term testing you are looking for and an abnormal spike in a monitored metal/additive is something to possibly investigate. Extended oil life is only a side benefit.
