IMO oil analysis is a scam designed to separate you and your money. If you change the oil every year, why do you feel you need an oil analysis? I've taken several years of college level general chemistry (straight A's in every class) and I can tell you the the ICP (inductive coupled plasma) analysis you are so fond of doesn't tell you what you need to know. Now, if you are getting a FTIR test, or a visual (micropscopy) test, that will but that's not happening for $29.95 + another $10.00 for the TBN test. Use your eyes, your ears, and your nose. That will tell you what you need to know.
If you insist on testing, take a drop of used oil (from your dipstick) and and blot it on the back of a business card. Does the oil saturate the card stock evenly as it is absorbed? Yes/No If it leaves a heavy black spot in the middle where you blotted it your dispersant package is saturated and the oil needs changing. If not, chances are you are fine. If the oil spreads out evenly (this may take several hours) just change it as specified. Free test!
That said, oil analysis on huge engines (100's of gallons of lubricating oil) does make sense. It also makes sense in critical applications like jet engines, huge hydraulic systems, huge cooling systems, etc. Save your money. Just change the oil according to the schedule the mfgr. gives you and stop the anal retentive nonsense.

Well aren’t you special You went to College. I am so impressed but sad that you didn't learn anything about oil analysis. I am so so impressed you got good grades but why do you get on a forum and show your total ignorance?
