Which sealant to use on replacing exterior speaker?

I had an exterior speaker get sun dried causing a crack. When it would rain heavy I would get water inside. I have purchased the same replacement speaker and need to install it. But I can't seem to...

I have never had any success with silicone on trailers/motorhomes. It tends to separate and peel off over time. Use "Proflex" for RV's. It's available at RV stores and works much better.
