The shock is NOT a spring. It is a dampening fixture to slow down spring movement, but not restrict it.
Agree completely.
A shock stiff enough to keep your rig from rolling across driveway entrances would have it riding like a buckboard.
Our Monaco has an "almost active" rear suspension that does a good but not perfect job on those "big diagonals".
