While tightening battery terminal ,,,SPARKS fly

I was tightening the battery posts on my house batteries , '98 Safari D.P. and my pliers came in contact with the coach frame . Sparks flew and now Onan Generator is dead when pushing the start butto...

I would have to think it would be in the negative cable that goes directly to ground.

I think because you touched the positive battery terminal to the negative frame, the circuit would have to complete directly from the frame to the negative terminal.
