While tightening battery terminal ,,,SPARKS fly

I was tightening the battery posts on my house batteries , '98 Safari D.P. and my pliers came in contact with the coach frame . Sparks flew and now Onan Generator is dead when pushing the start butto...

Remove neg cable first, replace it last. Also, if you have two sets of batteries, house and chassis, I believe you would need to remove BOTH neg cables, or it could short to the other set. Correct me if I am wrong.
