Has anyone ever encountered Code 888 888 on their side by side Whirlpool Fridge ? Talked to Whirlpool and Newmar and no help, says they have never heard of this, so a service call has been scheduled...

Your model number is GI0FSAXVY05. Letter I rather than number 1. There is no information on 8888 in the display in the tech sheet for this refrigerator. The thing to try is to shut the power off for 5 minutes and see if it resets. If the problem does not go away you will most likely need a new control. The HV control is located in the back of the refrigerator. You will have to move it out to get at the part. Part number is W10312695. It is not a real common part that you will find at most repair centers. It is available at the distribution level.
