For a while the refrigerator was working a day then it would go off , then It would come back on, now it is been running for the last five days ! I think I will probably order the high-voltage board for the back and replace it and wait and see what happens ! Are you familiar with changing these boards? And is it an easy job ?
The part has not been discontinued by Whirlpool, the part number changed.
Part W10162500 substituted to part WPW10162500
Additional Stock is expected 04/22/2016
Did they ever put the rear control board in?
The HV control on the back of the refrigerator is pretty easy to change. Just a matter of unplugging the refrigerator, taking off the control cover, swapping out the boards and put it back together. There are 4 multiple wire plugs that need to be plugged in on the control. The new control board will need to be programmed using the program code listed on your model and serial tag. Refer to the tech sheet that is with the refrigerator for the instructions to program the control. The part number for the HV control board is W10312695, that part number will be changing to WPW10312695. It is also currently on factory back order with NO ETA but if you search you should be able to find one in stock at a local servicer or parts distributor. When I looked for the part I saw none it the Northern part of the country where I live but quite a few in the South from Arizona to Florida.
