It was your fault for not having that coverage - because you failed to ask for it!!! Don't you read your policy? I learned to do that when someone at the insurance agency thought I didn't need glass coverage. Had a broke windshield and the insurance company would not cover it. I had a hissy fit to say the least, My insurance agent covered the glass out of his pocket and had the coverage added back on my policy. Ten years later, I still have the same agent and the same insurance company. But now I read my insurance policy and know what coverage I have! My fault if I don't read it, and it doesn't cover what I thought it would!!!
I went with Progressive at the advice of my independent agent, we saved almost $200. Soon after we were driving across Monument Vally and my driver side window just blew out. We found out that we did not have full glass coverage and the repair just happened to be what our deductible was. We went back to State Farm where we have full coverage even for our windshield on our A.
