The problem with the California double tow law is that very few understand it, even some highway patrol men don't know how the law goes, its dame confusing, maybe I should go into Cali and see if I get a ticket and challenge it in court and see how a traffic Judge views the law than we will know for sure, till than its up in the air, as to all other 49 states it clear in the writing of the law..
Why is Cali so confusing in their laws, even many truckers have gave up going into that state..
And you think a traffic judge wouldn't make a mistake? The California law is really not that confusing. I already posted it for you. A motorhome is not allowed to tow more than one trailer and/or vehicle. I think the reason you see confusion is because most people don't tow two trailers behind a motorhome. So it's something that the CHP wouldn't deal with often and every officer may not know they law. But it took me about five minutes to look up the appropriate sections and copy and paste them here. And although I'm not with CHP, I am a retired cop and spent several years working traffic.
