TinMac, you need an R endorsement to tow doubles in Nv. You also need a J endorsement if towing a trlr over 10k gvwr. I have been towing doubles for many years and always check what and where its legal. I currently have a Class A with doubles and triples endorsement and just keep this lic as it covers anything i wish to do.
R endorsement is no longer required under Nevada DMV, I have a copy of the recent rule change in Nevada for double and triple towing,
It says all class C drivers can tow 1 or 2 vehicles up to 70ft and be under 26000lb gross weight on all combined, I even confirmed this with DMV.
Over 26000 lbs even if its just the motorhome by itself you need a CDL class A or B license and than endorsements with CDL to double/triple tow.
My setup is 64ft 4in and all 3 combined GVWR is just under 26000 lbs, I am legal in Nevada...
Here is a copy of the new revised DMV law requirements for Nevada..
