- MrWizardModeratorcongrats on the new fridge
your going to like 'residential' - MackteeExplorerHi all,
We ended up using Bullseye RV in Surprise, to exchange the fridges, and they did an excellent job. We are extremely pleased with the finished product. DW took pictures and next time I am home at the coach we will figure out how to post them. We were told to sell the old fridge ourselves as there is a market for them. Don't have any idea how much to ask for it. It still works excellent. By the way I went with the Samsung 197. - MackteeExplorerAnd yes PapPappy, I will try to get pics, and certainly let everyone know how it turns out and what unit we decided on. Right now it is between the Samsung 197 and the Whirlpool 22.6 cu ft two door with water and ice in door. Macktee
- MackteeExplorerWow, thanks for the responses. I do appreciate the offer if I was to do it myself in Jan. but I am not that handy and I still work in the oilfields of western Canada, therefore I will be back and forth, so I will be definitely checking out the ones that can do it all, like the Texan wrote, for example. I haven't even had any problems with the Norcold, but I have heard all the good reports from so many who have switched that We decided we would get it done. Thanks again for the info. Macktee
- Hoosier_CruiserExplorerWe winter at Happy Trails RV Resort in Surprise, AZ. Several of us have installed a Samsung RF197 refrigerator. I won't be there until January and would be willing to help if you are wanting to do the task yourself. You do need to do some research. Download the exact specification sheet for the make and model of refrigerator that you think you would like to use. Probably the cabinet will need some modification. I was able to remove the Norcold through the door by removing the doors and parts off the back. the new one came in through the passenger side window that was more than big enough being 42" x 47". For my installation, I reinforced the floor to support the new frig, insulated the sides, rear and top with foam board. additionally, I had room above to remove part of the cabinet face frame. I didn't want to move the drawer, sewer lines, water lines, bundle of wires and LP gas lines; therefore, ours is 11" off the main floor. If you do not want to do the install yourself, just removing the old and making the changes to the cabinet would reduce your cost to install greatly. I think that Orangewood RV charges $115/hour for their work if they will take it on.
- The_TexanExplorerWe use D&R Family RV, 6344 W Orangewood #7, Glendale, AZ 85301, phone 623-842-1265. It is a father son family operation and their work has been impeccable, plus very reasonable.
