There are many ways to enjoy the lifestyle, and that's great. Let me say that for a Class C, there is no rule that you need to have a toad. We haven't used one yet and we haven't felt like we missed anything by not having it. We have taken our 27 footer to the Santa Monica Pier, small towns like Fort Collins CO, Jackson WY, Camden ME, through many National Parks, and so forth. We have gone to restaurants, malls (ugh!), museums, etc. no toad. We particularly like driving to some pull-out in Yellowstone, having some lunch, while we watch the buffalo roam (I think more pleasant in the RV than in a toad).
I notice you are from PA. You might want to go to Hershey in September for the RV show. It will be easy to compare all types of RVs there, floor plans, build quality, etc.
Best wishes in your search. Bob
Thanks again everyone! Yes Bob, we went to the hershey show last year but were really only looking at 5th wheel toy haulers. Obviously a motorhome with my regular ATV trailer serves the same purpose as a toy hauler which is what got me thinking. Most of our camping happens in the poconos however and I still thin kI would really need a tow vehicle. For example, we camp at a state park 3 or 4 times per year and go fishing at a spot that is about 4 miles from the campsite. Just far enough where we need to drive but close enough and small enough parking where it would be a pain to drive the camper down there.
All great thoughts folks, thanks again!
