I went from trailer to C for a couple reasons.
Mom was chronically ill at the time and I wanted something I could jump in and drive off on a moment's notice when I had the brief chance. Just a night here or there. The C is perfectly suited to our state parks here in CA. There are lots of less desirable (for many) shorter spots the C will just pop into.
Related to that, the C is easy to fit in just about any campsite. A 47' truck and trailer not so much. Especially backing in alone without a spotter at night or in difficult sites.
Trailers make sense for a lot of people particularly if they already have the tow vehicle. Of course the tow vehicle also serves as transportation once setup. I got around that issue with motorcycle trailer I bring if needed.
All I can say is weigh priorities and make your choice. If you choose wrong you won't be the only one.
