Why do we carry a spare tire around?
Hi Folks,
THIS IS MENT TO BE A DISCUSSION. Since the beginning of cars and RV,s, we have always carried a spare tire. With a Roadtrek, none of us are able to change a tire, especially those of us who are 75 years or older, We all have AAA type policies that gets somebody else to come out and change the tire. Today, I had AAA come out on a flat tire on my car. They pumped it up and suggested I go get it checked. 15 bucks later, a nail hole was fixed.
The total weight of a tire is 80 pounds. Add a spare tire holder we go up to over 100. That is weight that cost gas.
The technology of tires is much better than years past.
From what I have heard, RV companies are selling RV,s without spare tires. Even Good Sam Club says you don,t need one,
So, why carry one?
