I agree if your tire is common there is less reason to carry unless you are often some distance off the beaten path. Some trailers and class A etc. probably should carry a spare as it is often easier to find a guy to mount a tire on a holiday or Sunday afternoon vs. finding the actual tire you need. I carry a serpentine fan belt for the same reason.
