Our TT has a spare. Our TV does not. I've needed the TT's spare once. A few years ago, a knucklehead neighbor let a slew of roofers dump their trash on his property, illegally, I might add. That year, after decades of never needing a spare, we suffered 11 flats via roofing nails. Go figure.
The TV has run-flat tires, which I hope to never test in anger. If you discover a puncture immediately, a patch/plug is probably all you need, and a plug kit with a dozen plugs is a few bucks. If you don't, the tire is ruined whether run-flat or regular. But with the cost of tires now pushing $100 for the TT, and in the $300-$400 range for the TV, I'm not entirely sure that investing in a spare that will probably spend its entire life waiting to be used is a good investment. I do, however, carry a small compressor, plugs, and pliers.
