Have not owned the truck long enough to really say one way or another. All I can state is based on miles my 5.7 would have 2 oil changes completed at this point which I would have paid around $160 for. The HEMI is supposed to if we are following the book have spark plugs changed every 40k which is $400.
Diesel truck i will do about 1 oil change to every 3 of the gas so it is a wash, $230 for the oil change. Looking at the filter life I will most likly do two of them in the same time that I would have to change the plugs in the gas I had.
I think, just like the up front cost of the diesel causes issues, the need to drop 400 on a service at once instead of 100 4 times a year gets people.
