Instead you have EGR filters, Oil coolers, very sensitive prone to failure fuel injectors which rely on both clean oil and filtered radiator fluid, DEF and other federally mandated emission equipment, turbos that can fail when not properly managed, head gaskets that fail when erg/exhaust temps get too high when climbing steep grades while towing, not to mention fuel injection control modules that can be very sensitive when both of the massive and expensive engine batteries begin to fail.
I have both diesel and gas as well, love both but there are trade offs.
smacdiesel, you must be referring to the 6.0's :) LOL But I also forgot to mention DEF. That is an extra expense us diesel owners enjoy. At any rate, it brings a smile to my face when I pull up to the trucker lanes at the truck stops to fill my DEF and fuel! I always have to correct DW when she says gas. It's not gas people, it's fuel! :)
