Don't forget that not all things work well on inverter powered outlets. Most inverters put out a modified sine wave 120 volts AC current. This will work fine on some things but other things, like phone battery chargers, laptop chargers, digital clocks, and other appliances do not work well, or at all, on a modified sine wave. When connected to shore power, you are getting a true sine wave power and all 120 volt appliances will work fine.
My Camelot is wired this way so I asked the Monaco techs why. They claimed the MSW units would damage some things like electric blanket controls so they were excluded from the inverter circuit.
