Why spotlights on older Class A'?
My 1987 has a remote controlled spot light up top ( works great, it is bright! ). But why? Did they serve a purpose? If so, why don't the new ones I see, have one? Was it a fad? I seem to only notice ...

I looked at a 2013 Allegro Bus that had one - kind of cool. Had a joystick to drive it.
The use is probably the same for one on a boat - maneuvering.
