Why spotlights on older Class A'?
My 1987 has a remote controlled spot light up top ( works great, it is bright! ). But why? Did they serve a purpose? If so, why don't the new ones I see, have one? Was it a fad? I seem to only notice ...

it works great because each side of the light bar is beamed at left and right of roadway and the middle section straight ahead
I have a remote control on/off switch I use as I travel so I don't annoy a oncoming vehicle
