We have one on our '04 Itasca Horizon 36GD and, it's come in handy for various purposes every now and then. Ours even is equipped with a remote that you have the option for speedy scanning of an area or, slow scanning. I don't go crazy with it, just use it on occasion. Of course you don't blind or displease fellow campers with it, use some common sense.

as far as I have ever seen(quite a few) there always remote control
would be pretty useless if they were not
I was referring to the fact that the "remote" that I have can be carried outside, unlike joystick, and I can aim that light from quite a distance away if the circumstances dictated such movement.

Mile High,
The spot light on our coach was factory installed. It's called a "Golight". There's two models, a white one and a chrome one. Ours is the chrome one. In the 2004 Horizon Brochure, it's listed as an option all all models of that year. It's been quite handy in various situations, REGARDLESS of who thinks the remote is of value or not. I've used it for folks with engine troubles at night and I could be right where they are while lending a hand, and use the remote to help concentrate the light where it was most needed at the time.
I've used it in many camping situations in the evening helping guide friends in to our area. It's pretty handy, if and when needed, as opposed to a well-working higher powered flashlight that's sold now days.
