Why would anyone want an outside TV?

That remind me a situation I had at campground 100 miles from Bay Area.
100 miles Friday afternoon makes for 3-5 hr of driving.
So we went there on Thursday and don't remember if that was Friday, or Saturday that was football day.
That afternoon on next site a pickup pulled in, while having big projector TV on it. (days before plasma become affordable)
2 strong guys set that TV + generator and the night were joined by group of young campers. They watch the game and next morning all left.
Beautiful lake was 200' away, but I doubt many of them got their feet wet.
