I have a full hard rubber flap mounted on the rear bumper of the C measured 2 inches from the pavement for clearance and so far no damage.
The hula skirts that flap in the wind are no good since they bend with the wind under the RV and actually help what ever is trown up to go higer by the vacum created by the RVs flat back end, causing more damage to the toad, a hard rubber flap will not bend with the wind, then of course my RV and the toad are at the same height more or less.
