Windshield Chip repair in Indio, Palm Desert, CA

Hello everyone,

I have a small chip in my windshield and would like to have it repaired so it wont spread. Does anyone know of a good place (company) to have this done in the Indio, Palm Spring, Palm Desert, CA area.

Thank you all for any suggestions,

If you are a member of FMCA. then come January there should be a Rally at the fairgrounds.. Odds of a chip repair firm being present approach 100%. (you can check with the rally folks).. Might be a good idea.. The Rally will be fun too, Make sure you have a FULL fuel tank when you arrive as you will need your generator. And buy a Gen-Turi and install it first (If not already done) no need to gas your neighbor.
  • Thanks everyone for your suggestions. My insurance company contacted Safelite of Palm Springs and Safelite contacted me. I have an appointment on Thursday for them to come to me at the RV park.

I will keep a record of the other suggestions in case I ever need the windshield replaced. Safelite only repairs, they do not replace windshields.

  • RV Glass Experts....the best...nationwide and will come to your site to repair. They sent a crew and replaced our entire one piece at the campground...excellent company. Clicky below....Dennis

  • Call Dick & ROsemary Allen - Patriot Enterprises - 541-953-2757. They're RVers from Oregon who winter in Indio, and are connected with GlasWeld, about the best glass chip fixers around. Don't know if they've come south yet. They've fixed a couple of chips for us and do excellent work. And they're nice folks to boot.

  • Thanks everyone,

My insurance company will pay for the repair without any deductable, yes! I will call the Safelite in Palm Springs. I like the idea working with a national company. I am sure I can have them come to our site in Indio.

  • My insurance does not cover it. You can pick up a do it yourself kit at any auto parts store for $10. Just follow the instructions, it works great.
  • If you have insurance ask them who to take it to. It is usually a free repair through your insurance without affecting your insurance rates. The beauty of this is that if the repair is defective the insurance company will have to pay to make it right.
I had a chip last year and my insurance company handled the whole thing. Told them where I was going to be and when and they made the appointment.
