I want to ditch my old winegard antenna and replace it with something newer antenna-wise. Can I do that and just use the existing hardware? Such as the hand crank? And is it worth it to do this? 1988 ...

The Winegard Bat wing is the best antenna you can have. If it’s old and no amp I would buy a new one and add a Sensar Pro amp to the mix.
