Winnebago view 24J bed

Question

I just purchased a "new to me " 08' View. The RV came with the over cab mattress missing. I have a few ideas on how to replace it with a board, gas struts, and an air mattress. Also, I thought it might me common for folks to remove it like the previous owner of this one did for the extra storage space. That would mean that that there would be a lot of the mattress's and hardware taking up space in people basement or garages. They might even be happy to get rid of their "extra parts" . Any suggestions on a fold up mattress design, or any offers of selling me your extra parts at a reasonable rate would greatly appreciated.

well on the mattress, I'd buy a memory foam one. their the best,, and you can cut it fit. you find that rv mattresses are a different size the home ones.
example is buy a queen size 60 x 80 inch and trim it down.
my rv size was 54 x 75
lots of rv mattresses also lots have a corner missing so to speak.
