Winn/Racor fuel filter system acting up
Our 1995 CC Intrigue is equipped with a Winn (now Racor) fuel filter system, one capable of purging water and air from the system. As best as I can tell, the Model is a Winn RVS.
It has worked fine for the dozen years we have owned the coach. Yesterday, though, while we were sitting in an RV park in western NC, it suddenly self-activated -- one could say it went wacko, emitting an irregular whine that I think was the purging pump motor. Had to unplug the unit to get it to stop, and it now seems dead after plugging it back in.
So, here's my question: Can the engine be operated normally if the fuel filter is un-plugged, so we can have the system checked out & repaired after we drive out to town or city large enough to have good truck service centers?
