I'm curious, too, about any protective film being an option. Had a cracked driver's windshield last year (bullseye spider crack), and the other side cracked this year (linear). I've heard many a rock hit the windshield and there were small pits, but neither time heard a rock hit before noticing the cracks. Old pits expanding?
I have full glass coverage with no deductible so that's not an issue; it's just time related to getting things repaired and then wondering when the next rock will hit. Would be nice to have something help prevent future occurrences if possible.
