Winter Relaxing

We really enjoyed Canyon Vista at Gold Canyon ( just east of Apache Junction.)

I recommend the Foothills in Yuma Az

Our two favorite spots have been mentioned......Apache Junction and Yuma. Lots of other neat places in Arizona also. Warmer at lower elevation locations.

Casa Grande is a popular place also.

Do you want to be in or close to a large city?

We spent some time at a wonderful RV part outside of Scottsdale (Eagle View RV Resort) that I would LOVE to spend some more time at. Very reasonable rates, extremely private and quiet and close to everything. Just a thought!

We winter in Tucson. Rincon Country West Resort. A great place with lots to do if you so chose or just hang and sight see. Weather is great and we are close to all shopping and doctors, etc.

Around the Phoenix area you can beat the heat...to a point by going North towards Flagstaff. Lots of opportunities.

Around Tucson, you can look in the Bisbee area or even up towards Show Low. South of Tucson around Nogales is OK but still pretty toasty.
Remember though, it's all relative and you need to get above the 4-5,000 ft level for much relief. Above 7,000 is even better.

Forget anyplace around Yuma or Casa Grande, they are hotter than Tucson.

They were asking about wintertime. That time of year in flagstaff is as cold as colorado. Wintertime here is like fall anywhere else, mid 70's during the day and 30's to 40's at night. Anywhere in the desert is about the same. Yuma, tucson, phoenix, lake havasu, quartzsite, etc. are all beautiful throughout the winter. Where you will stay depends a lot on what you like to do. If you like to boondock(no hookups), quartzsite is the most popular. They have huge flea markets and plenty of restaurants, snowbirds love it. Yuma is a lot the same, and only about an hour and 15 minutes directly south. Alamo lake west of phoenix is nice I hear.
