When I replaced my Norcold with a Samsung (Model RF197) I relocated the solenoid to the back of the fridge so I can reach it through the original Norcold access panel. Then when I winterize, I simply disconnect the small hose up to the icemaker so it drains down and then power up the solenoid with a cheater cord until the pink stuff flows.

I like that idea. I'll check it out. May not have the time to do the work before I get home. So, I'll probably have to drain it using Samsung's suggestion.
