RVtravelguy, the cost of possible damage will eat up any profit right quick.
We rented 3 times before we purchased. The owner of the rental company sent his units off to auction every year and bought a whole new fleet (probably 15-20 units). Of course he did receive a good discount for buying so many. He told me it just wasn't worth it to try and maintain a unit as it started to age. So, every year that we rented, we got a new unit!
He had one unit where a guy hit a deer, it damaged the front-end pretty bad. I'm sure that unit was out of commission for several months.
Granted, you might have a good renter or two but one bad renter 'could' cause some serious damage. Would you want someone to smoke in your RV? Have unruly pets? Take a family of 10?
I would certainly wish you the best of luck, but take a very realistic look at this before moving forward.
Safe travels,

Please Send me this guys name and phone number. He has a miraculous business plan. How much does he charge you to rent one of his coaches?
Bill
The rental company was in business before the crash of 2008. Looking on the internet now, I can't find them. They were located in Orange County, CA.
We rented from them in 2004, 2005 and 2006. A class C first and then two class A's. He rented Fleetwood products.
This guy was very nice and probably is not in business anymore as fuel cost soared and the economy crashed. At the time we were renting, he was wanting to open his own service center as coach maintenance was very expensive. He thought he could maintain his own rental coaches and get business offering services to RV owners.
If I remember correctly, it was around $250 a day for a class A.
