We joke that rental units can go "anywhere" and do, without any common sense coming into play at all. We saw a couple of "little old ladies" traveling on a cross country trip several years back in a fairly new 25-26 ft rental class C. They had creases, dents and holes on the body several places and added a new dent and broken tail light when they backed into a tree while parking next to us. No way would I rent or loan one of my RVs, let El Monte or Cruise America do it, they have much deeper pockets and no personal attachment to the RV, it's just a ledger entry for them.
