Yes, both trips we have taken we have been fully loaded, everything topped off and my wife packed as if we were never coming back. I have no trouble getting up to speed, even with the V-8. And it doesn't ever feel like it's going to tip over in a corner like I imagine those narrow Sprinters might feel. I have been pleasantly surprised at how well it handles on back roads.
But we have been unlucky both times, when I picked it up in MI, and our shakedown trip, with it being VERY windy. I know from watching other commercial traffic that everyone was struggling with the wind. And in that wind, constant correction was necessary. It's like a sail, tall and short, and the height to length ratio of almost 50% is probably a major cause.
Without the wind it has driven just as you would expect, like a pick-up that's heavy in the back.
