I wouldn't let "them" take care of it. I'd allow an inspection under my watchful eye and then take it (tow it) to the shop of my choosing with them footing the bill. I'd also get a statement from "them" admitting to the damage and agreeing to repair it at their cost prior to you taking it anywhere else. When you get into an accident and it isn't your fault, the offending party cannot tell you where to take your car to be repaired. It is the same thing in this case.
