I think I have more or less answered my own question yesterday we tried for the first time to unroll it, did not get far as the bracket that holds the bottom to the motorhome broke and then the alternate one broke, they do not carry these at Camping World so we have the thing bungied at the bottom...Also at that time I noticed that this awining is so high up for short me (wife) that it really gonna take some stretching even with a long handle thingie to let it close. I had to rescue my friends manual awning at the beach and it took three grown men to get it under control in high wind. So thinking about the ease of push a button its up! really seems like the way to go..however the cost makes me want to wrestle with this one for awhile...heh
