This doesn't have anything to do with gears and HP. It has to do with the strength of the frame and how much overhang you have(distance from the rear wheels to bumper. Best to look up what your coach is rated for.

Valid points for sure. Most of the newer E450 based Cs have a 7500 lb towing capacity and a hitch to match. If the OP gets a Samurai like he talked about, that's only about a 4000 lb total load. But if I had a Samurai I'd tow it four down, since that little rig can be set up to tow very cheaply and easily.
