We just use a memory topper - 3 -5" on the regular mattress - very comfortable.
Don't know what brand, but my brother paid over $2,000 for a 9" memory foam bed and after a couple of years there was a permanent indent where he slept ( not a big guy either). The company fully refunded his purchase price and he bought something else. So -- price doesn't necessarily mean good.
