To me, it seems like the only thing you gain from using a rice cooker is automatically shutting off when it thinks it's done. I pretty much use dutch ovens (indoor and outdoor types) for all rice cooker and crock pot recipes.

With that said, I do have a favorite pasta recipe that I used to make in the rice cooker, but have since moved to a dutch oven.
